Verification Communications Terms

These terms govern the optional BetterLocals Listing Verification communications program operated by Find My Services, LLC, doing business as BetterLocals (“BetterLocals,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

Program purpose

The program sends operational, non-marketing communications so a person acting for a business or organization can review public information on one identified BetterLocals listing. Participation is optional and is not a condition of submitting a listing, requesting manual review, requesting a claim, or purchasing anything.

Verification choices

The signed verification page offers an optional, unchecked choice to request one automated AI verification call. Read the call and recording disclosure, enter a phone number at which you are authorized to receive the call, and select the checkbox only if you agree. Opening an invitation link does not authorize a call.

You may leave your listing for manual review or contact support@betterlocals.com for help. The AI-call choice does not authorize text messages or create marketing consent.

Voice AI terms

If you request the AI call, you authorize BetterLocals to place one automated, AI-generated listing-verification call to the number you provide. The call may be recorded and transcribed for directory review, quality, and compliance. The assistant identifies itself as automated AI and identifies BetterLocals at the start. You may decline, say the number is wrong, ask not to be called, or end the call at any time. There is no automated retry. Calls are subject to service availability and permitted calling hours.

Earlier SMS sessions

The current AI-call request does not enroll you in SMS verification. If you previously received BetterLocals verification texts, text HELP for help or STOP to cancel SMS from the sending number. You may also email support@betterlocals.com. Existing opt-out and suppression requests remain in effect. Message and data rates may apply to earlier SMS sessions; carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Human review; no automatic listing action

Information collected through AI calls or earlier SMS sessions is a proposed correction for a BetterLocals moderator. The program does not prove ownership, approve a claim, create marketing permission, update WordPress, change a public listing, or publish a listing automatically. A moderator must review any factual change separately.

Appropriate use

Provide only public business-listing information that you are authorized to supply. Do not send passwords, security codes, payment data, government identifiers, medical information, legal-case details, or other sensitive personal information. Do not impersonate another business or use a signed link for a listing that you are not authorized to review.

Privacy

The BetterLocals Verification Privacy Notice explains how information from this program is collected, used, disclosed, and retained. Mobile information and SMS opt-in data or consent are not sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.

Availability and changes

We may pause or end a verification session for expiration, opt-out, suppression, identity conflict, abuse, technical problems, or compliance review. We may update these terms as the program or applicable requirements change. The effective date above identifies the current version.
