Verification Privacy Notice

This notice explains how Find My Services, LLC, doing business as BetterLocals (“BetterLocals,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), handles information used for the BetterLocals Listing Verification program. It supplements the general BetterLocals privacy policy for this verification process.
Information we collect
When you receive or use a signed listing-verification link, we may collect:
- the BetterLocals listing ID, listing URL, business name, and a snapshot of public listing information;
- the email address associated with the verification invitation;
- the phone number you enter for an optional AI verification call;
- your AI-call selection and any earlier SMS or Voice AI selections, the consent language and version shown, the source page, the date and time of your selection, and security hashes derived from technical request information;
- SMS messages and delivery, HELP, STOP, opt-out, wrong-number, complaint, and suppression information;
- if you separately authorize a Voice AI call, the call outcome and any recording, transcript, or summary generated for directory review, quality, safety, and compliance; and
- public business information you confirm or propose changing.
Do not provide passwords, security codes, payment data, government identifiers, medical information, legal-case details, or other sensitive personal information through listing verification.
How we use the information
We use this information to authenticate and administer the signed verification session; send the operational communications you selected; collect proposed public business information for human review; honor STOP, opt-out, do-not-call, wrong-number, complaint, and suppression requests; prevent duplicate or unauthorized activity; investigate delivery or security problems; and maintain records needed for legal, carrier, audit, and compliance purposes.
Verification answers are proposals for a BetterLocals moderator. They do not prove ownership, approve a claim, create marketing consent, change a listing, or publish it automatically.
SMS and mobile information
We do not sell mobile phone information or share mobile information, SMS opt-in data, or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. We may disclose limited mobile information to service providers that perform necessary support functions for us, such as messaging delivery, customer support, security, and compliance. Those providers may use the information only to perform those services for BetterLocals.
Service providers
We may use service providers for website hosting, operational email, customer relationship management, telecommunications, SMS delivery, automated or AI-assisted conversations, call recording or transcription, security, and data storage. We disclose only the information reasonably needed for those services and require the information to be handled on our behalf.
Retention
We retain verification-session, consent, communication, suppression, call, transcript, proposal, and audit records only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this notice, including dispute resolution, security, legal compliance, and enforcement of opt-out requests. Retention periods may differ by record type and applicable requirement.
Your choices
AI-call verification is optional. The call-consent checkbox is not preselected. The current signed page lets you request one automated AI verification call to the number you provide, or leave your listing for manual review. Opening an invitation link does not authorize a call. This choice does not authorize text messages or create marketing consent. You may request no further automated calls at any time. If you previously received verification texts, reply STOP to opt out of further SMS from that number.
You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information associated with this program, subject to records we must retain for security, legal, carrier, or compliance reasons.
Security and signed links
Verification links are signed, limited to one listing and email address, and expire. No online service can guarantee absolute security. If you believe a verification link or communication was sent in error, do not use it and contact us.
Children
The listing-verification program is intended for adults acting for businesses or organizations and is not directed to children under 13.
